The Wii Balance Board or Wii Board is the latest controller for Nintendo's Wii Games Console. As you can see from the photo on the right, it looks a lot like a bathroom scale although about twice as wide and without any kind of display. Inside the board are 4 pressure sensors which allow it to determine the user's center of pressure. This information is sent wirelessly back to the Wii console at up to 60 times a second and allows games to capture and display a whole new range of motion.

The Wii Balance Board was first revealed at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) in July 2007 by Shigeru Miyamoto as part of his Wii Fit preview.

How Can I Get A Wii Balance Board

Right now, the only way to get a Wii Board is to buy Wii Fit. It doesn't come as a stand alone peripheral and it's not bundled with any other games yet. I say yet because this might change in the future as other games become available.
